Official State Wildflower of Florida
Florida designated coreopsis as the official state wildflower in 1991 (orange blossom is the state flower). Coreopsis has been planted extensively in Florida for highway beautification programs. All State Flowers
Coreopsis (the common name for the plant is tickseed) is a group of 35 species of flowering plants ranging in color from golden to pink. Twenty-eight species are native to North America and the others come from Central and South America.
