The "Kentucky Long Rifle" was originally known as the "Pennsylvania Long Rifle" because it was originally developed and produced in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Daniel Boone, a native Pennsylvanian born in Berks County, took his Pennsylvania long rifle to Kentucky.
